The 60,000 square mile region contains the state' s four largest cities (Dallas / Ft. Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston) not to mention several of the state' s other large metropolitan areas. This region contains 17 million people, nearly 75 percent of Texas' total population and is forecasted to see continued growth for decades to come.
