Completed in 2002, The Box & One is comprised of 2 buildings: the main building (Box) houses Crema Bakery, a bustling favorite in the world of Portland pastry, and 4 airy residential lofts. The smaller building (& One) is home to Noble Rot Wine Bar, named 2003's Restaurant of the Year by Willamette Week, and an open and spacious live/work unit on the 2nd floor.

The boundaries between indoor and outdoor space here have been blurred by large glass roll-up doors on both the main and upper levels and the use of radiant floor heating in the residential units gives a nod to energy efficiency.
